William Gould Tomer

American composer and hymnist who wrote both melodies and lyrics for gospel hymns during the mid-to-late 19th century. Tomer was particularly active in publishing and promoting Sunday school music and revival hymns. His compositions were widely used in Methodist and evangelical congregations across America.
