Walter Henry Monk

English organist and music editor who was principal music editor of *Hymns Ancient and Modern* (1861), the most influential Anglican hymnal of the 19th century. Monk composed numerous hymn tunes and was instrumental in establishing standards for congregational church music in the Anglican tradition.
