Josiah Conder

English Independent minister, editor, and prolific hymn lyricist who contributed substantially to 19th-century Protestant hymnody. Conder wrote original hymn texts and compiled important hymnal collections, particularly serving the Congregational and Independent traditions. His work as a hymn editor and author made him a significant figure in Victorian Christian music.
