John Brownlie

Scottish minister and accomplished hymn translator and paraphraser, particularly of early Christian Latin and Greek hymns. He produced numerous translations that brought historic Christian poetry into modern usage and significantly influenced Presbyterian and ecumenical hymnody. His scholarly approach preserved theological depth while achieving contemporary relevance.
