LyricistItalian mystic and hymn writer of the 14th and 15th centuries associated with the Jesuati movement. He composed devotional vernacular hymns in Italian that reflected affective spirituality and Christocentric piety. His hymn *Come Down, O Love Divine* (translated into English by Richard Frederick Littledale in the 19th century) remains widely sung in Anglican and other Protestant churches.
