Bernard Barton

English Quaker poet and hymn writer who produced numerous hymn texts during the 19th century. His works were widely included in Nonconformist hymn collections and reflected evangelical piety. Barton's hymns remain in use in various Protestant traditions, though he is now less widely known than his contemporaries.
