Arabella Katherine Hankey

English hymn lyricist and poet known for her devotional poetry and hymn texts that emphasized biblical narrative and spiritual experience. She wrote "The Old, Old Story" and numerous other hymns that achieved wide circulation in British and American hymnals. Her work was characteristic of Victorian evangelical Anglicanism.
